Reduction of Fees on Application for Registration and Renewal of Registration Between January 2021 and December 2021

Dear Registered Architects,

To counter the challenging economic environment, and to recuperate support for the architectural profession, the Architects Registration Board (“ARB”) adopted a reduction on the fees of application for registration and renewal for Registered Architects (“RAs”) in 2020.

As Hong Kong’s economy recovery remains uncertain, in consideration of the well-being of the architectural profession, ARB has decided to adopt a reduction of fees again in 2021, which covers application for registration and renewal of registration commencing 1 January 2021, for Registered Architects (RAs) with registration expiring in 2021. Such measure is to support the profession against a difficult economic downturn, which continues to prove challenging in 2021 for architects as well as the wider buildings and construction industry due to the global outbreak of COVID-19.

All ongoing applications for registration and renewal of registration in 2021 (for RAs with registration expiring on 31 March, 30 June, 30 September and 31 December 2021) will benefit from this fee reduction, with the following fee schedule:

The foregoing fee reduction will last for one year during 2021.
